It’s been a long time coming, but the Toyota GR Corolla is finally here. An all-new hot hatch with 300 horsepower under the hood, the new GR Corolla is a rally-inspired machine built from the ground up for those who love to drive.
Sending power to the front wheels is a turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine that develops a remarkable 100 horsepower per cylinder. It also cranks out 273 lb-ft of torque, and it’s hooked up to a six-speed manual only. That makes Toyota’s target audience clear.
The all-new GR Corolla also features a clever all-wheel-drive system adapted from the GR Yaris rally car. It lets you choose between three power distribution modes (60/40, 50/50, and 30/70) between the front and rear axles, so it should be easy to put power to the ground no matter the conditions.
The new Toyota hot hatch will be sold at just a single, fully-equipped trim level. Standard features include the Toyota Safety Sense™ 3.0 suite of driver-assistance features, the company’s most advanced one yet, as well as Michelin® Pilot Sport 4 tires and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.
The car will be built on the same production line that was used to make the Lexus LFA supercar. Order your Toyota GR Corolla before reservations run out at Northcutt Toyota in Enid, Oklahoma!
